Who I am (the long version) . .
Michelle Adams is a lawyer, business consultant, speaker, writer and entrepreneur. She traded life as a trial lawyer to fearlessly create a life on her own terms, including opening a solo legal and business coaching practice, becoming a certified mediator and turning a creative hobby into a flourishing food business.
As a trial lawyer for 20 years Michelle represented Fortune 500 companies in litigation, as well as professionals in malpractice lawsuits. She built two seven figure law firms and operated as managing partner. Michelle's third legal firm is a solo legal consulting practice where she provides business services to entrepreneurs, including online templates, advises on the law, business consulting and mediation for business partnerships.
In addition to her legal and business firm, Michelle is the founder and CEO of a food business. The Sugar Path is a fixture in its community and is consistently recognized by The Knot and Wedding Wire as a top wedding bakery. It was recognized by Barbara Corcoran as the winner of her small business award in 2016 and it ships product nationwide. It has served thousands of customers, including Music and TV personalities, Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy.
Michelle operates the lifestyle blog, The Inspired J.D., and offers online educational courses and tools for female entrepreneurs, particularly those that are starting a business at any age, including mid-life.
Michelle is a member of Marie Forleo's B-School, as well as many entrepreneurial and legal organizations and groups. She graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law and received her mediation training at Northwestern University. She is a licensed attorney in Illinois.
